I am so happy with the finished bag! The flowers really make it look so pretty and perfect for any time of the year you want a little cheer.
The colors I chose for the flowers are more similar to Iceland Poppies (the original pattern calls for Shirley poppies). But I believe that when it comes to flowers any color goes, just pick your favorites and give it a try. And lucky for us Cascade 220 comes in a rainbow of colors.
The bag itself was super easy to make, the flowers were a bit time consuming, but you can make as many as you want. Assembly took a solid afternoon, but overall it was a great project.
Don't you love socks? They are relatively quick to knit and you don't need to think much except when you are working the heel. This is the finished Ladder Sock by Conjoined Creations in their Flat Feet yarn -- on of the Warm colorways. You really can't tell what the socks are going to look like based on the flat...only the colors are the same; the pattern is much more subtle than you expect. Check out the Conjoined Creations website for more examples.
Better yet, stop in commuknity to see the sock in person.
This month's project will be a Market Bag! Sign up for our Third Saturday event on July 19, 2008.
We will have a free demo of making a market bag. This is a great accessory to take with you to the Farmer's Market or beach this summer. We'll show you everything you need to know to create your own market bag.

I like the way the colors are working and I like the springy feeling of the yarn. The kinkiness takes some getting used to, but the instructions strongly recommend washing and blocking once the socks are complete.
It was really easy to get started with these socks. I'm knitting them one a time, so we can display a finished sock next to the flat that it came from. Working from a flat knitted piece is easier than knitting from a ball of yarn. For one thing it doesn't roll around!
And it is addictive to keep knitting just one more round to see what happens next!
